I hope you guys enjoyed your long weekend with your friends and family! I just got back from a girl’s trip to Savannah a few hours ago and wanted to share a bit about my trip to Boca Raton last week.
As I shared on my previous post, last week I stayed at the beautiful Boca Raton Resort for a trade show and despite my awful experience during a media presentation, I enjoyed my stay.
This Waldorf Astoria resort has been around for over 80 years and is one of two resorts on South Florida’s Gold Coast–you’ll find the Boca Beach Club nearby. The resort boasts the #1 Spa in the World, based on Condé Nast Traveler’s Reader’s Choice Awards 2014.
Ignore all the junk on the bed. I had just been sitting in a car for four hours and as soon as I reached my bedroom, I plopped down on it and threw all my stuff everywhere!
I thought the French doors on the closets were so cute and loved how a light would turn on every time I opened the door. This kept me entertained for a few minutes, no lie. The room was really comfortable and it came equipped with plush robes that made me feel like a royal. Unfortunately I don’t have any pictures to share of myself modeling them.
I ate most of my meals in restaurants surrounding the resort because a) government per diem rate and b) hotel food is usually more expensive than the per diem rate, however, I was able to visit two of their restaurants during my stay.
For breakfast, I stopped by Palm Court and enjoyed their buffet which included hot and cold breakfast items like: oatmeal, waffles, omelets, fruits, bagels, eggs and sausages. I’m not much of a breakfast person but the food smelled so good I couldn’t help myself.
One of my favorite parts of the restaurant is that it faces the Yacht Club so once you’re done eating you can walk around and check out boats you’ll never be able to afford.

I visited the resort restaurant 501 East with a colleague for lunch because the hotel staff mentioned they had burgers. “Say no more,” my stomach grumbled.
This casual and contemporary restaurant offers a ton of American classics and overlooks the resort’s golf course.

Instead of a burger, I ended up ordering the fish tacos with sweet potato fries and a side of mac n’ cheese because apparently I am a human garbage disposal. Now, I’ve never believed in love at first sight but these tacos definitively stirred something up in me. 5/5 would eat all over again.

The hotel was pretty close to the beach but I wasn’t able to check it out (sadness). I was able to lay out by the pool and check out the FlowRider (no, I didn’t get on the FlowRider because I lack the coordination to, you know, not die. You can check out a video of it here).

I’ll have to make it a point to pack my sunnies and visit again! Who is down for a road trip?
xx
